I am looking for information on the cooper's trade in Milwaukee--unionization, work methods, directories, etc. I've recently come upon the intact cooper's chest of Richard Ohm, a man who worked for the Schlitz Company in the early 20th century. I hope to use the chest and its tools as a starting point for an article discussing life in the cooper's trade in late 19th and early 20th century America.

I am trying to find the value of 2 Falstaff trays that have never been out of the box. They are from 1971, and #8006 is King Falstaff with a stein, and #12002 is a woman with a stein. Also have a horse mounted on a wooden pedestal that reads, "Burger Beer the Favorite". Horse is some type of rubber material. I have never seen anything like him, nor have several antique dealers. I would really appreciate an idea of what these items are worth. Thank you!

Hello, While diving in the North Sea we found on the wreck 'Queen of the Channel' a small yellow ashtray with the inscription Bass. The ashtray holds the typical Bass-triangle. The material is emailled metal. It holds the inscriptions 'Great Stuff', 'Bass' and 'Newhall, Hanley, England, The property of Bass & Co LT, Burton-on-Trent'. The ship was sunk in World War II. Does anyone know if this ashtray is worth something? Thx! The Queen of the Channel was a British passenger ship (from the company Denny & Bros) operating between the European mainland and the United Kingdom. It sunk in 1940 in an German airraid

Just like every other red blooded american out there, i am looking to acquire some vintage hamms motion signs. really any of them, but of course i would like the grandaddy of them all the 5'2" one with the clock. Anyway, my wife doesn't exactly share my enthusiasm, thinking that bidding huge bucks on ebay isn't exactly the way to go, and that money is better spent on bills and the like. What I am wondering is there anyone who can give me advice on the cheapest way to go about getting some good hamms signs? Has anyone bought parts and gotten a whole together? i am more than willing to settle for much less than mint, and or some not original parts, just as long as the end product is well functioning. thank you very much. Your thoughts?

Only 12 hours left for our Bud auction of a late 1960's-early 1970's lighted sign with a cowboy sitting on a fence and a cowgirl standing on the otherside with ranchers bringing in the heard. It has the old bow tie bud logo on the left and the cowboy image on the right. Go to ebay.com- seller name selmerboyz and look for the bud auction. We heard we are asking well below it's value and it may be quite a find for some lucky collector.

Hello, I just purchased three very old beer lamps. One is a SCHILITZ lamp that rotates. On the lamp shade there are the different labels. The other two are a set. Very nice Heileman's old style beer. On the tops there are little labels that says C. Heileman's Brewing Co. La Crouse, Wisc. All three lamps are in great shape. Does anyone know the value of these lamps. Thanks

Buckeye Beer metal backbar piece for sale "Brewed as in Grandpa's Day". Die-cut of Bucky and the letters 'Buckeye' on wood and metal base with art deco chrome trim "Krausen Brewed - as of Old -". I had one at this year's Luck of the Irish show that is a slight upgrade to the one for sale. Very killer piece - was the highlight of the show. There are a few tiny chips of paint missing on the edges of the face and lettering, a couple of small scratches in the surface of the paint, and a 1/2 inch blemish in the background paint that appears to be an error (contamination) during processing (unusual area for moisure spotting). Tiny, tiny spots that seem to be from scuffing during production along the lower 1/4 of the face are visible on close inspection. Grade 9- (?) is conservative. Travel to Western or Southern Ohio possible about once a month. $1300.

I Have a Schlitz tavern table with matching chairs, it is from the 1893 columbian exposition. the backs of the four chairs have the schlitz globe logo which appears to be hand carved relief. I have been told that it is the only complete set in existance. This set has been handed down from generation to generation. My great uncle was brewmaster for schlitz, authenticating it's origin. it is a very sturdy set and has some pretty fancy rossette carving on it. I sure would appreciate any knowledge. I have pictures to e;mail and do enjoy sitting at this table with a couple of beers... Any offers? thanks, Bill

I have a 5' Lowenbrau bar display, I believe. It is a wagon with 20 barrels on it drawn by 4 horses. It has one rider and one driver. There are leather bridles and reins, possibly beech or maple barrels, and the wagon apears to be oak, nicely varnished. A Lowenbrau sign in metal is across the top. The horses and men are made of a hard plastic I believe--there is some damage to the rider and a tiny bit of damage to the drivers arm. The horses have wheels on the hoofs. Two wheels are missing. One ear of a horse is broken off at the very tip, however has been painted brown--not noticable. Does anyone known anything about it? I am planning to have it auctioned on Friday. Also an idea what it might be worth. Thank you Shari

Hi all, I've got some really interesting Breweriana type artifacts that date from at least the mid 50's, possibly a lot earlier. They were my grandfather's and he was the president of the American Society of Brewing Chemists from '55 to '56. I need to sell to raise money to take care of his daughter (my mother) who was just diagnosed with cancer. Take a look and bid if you like, they are pretty cool and are 'no reserve' items so you may get 'em cheap. ----------- Early Times artifact: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=569&item=3220342557&rd=1 ----------- Hudepohl artifact: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=572&item=3220343632&rd=1

I was just given a bottle that was found in a friend's yard and wanted to get a date on it. I have searched the net and found nothing. The label reads STROHS BOHEMIAN STYLE BEER, black label with yellow circle, old style writing, red seal with the lion on it (in gold) and the bottom reads The Stroh Brewery Co, Detroit 26, Michigan. It's a small 12 oz. brown bottle with these marks on the bottom: B (in a circle), 12, 67 and large 402. On the neck 'no deposit no return' and 'not to be refilled'. The cap is yellow, says Strohs Beer, turn off or use opener. The beer is full. I have seen many Bohemian labels but this one I didn't find on the net. I can email a photo of the bottle if someone can help. Thanks for your time in advance.

Do you have breweriana advertising signs you want to peddle? I am offering free use of BeerLights.com for advertising your items! I am looking for higher quality items for sale or swap. Broken and damaged signs from the 1970's won't work the best here. Contact Tim T. for more info! Happy to help and no charge to you! If you have questions on values of your items I will be happy to give you a "ball park" estimate. 100% safe for the seller, nothing leaves your hands until you are paid in full! Give me a try! Thanks!

Hey, I'm looking for anyone interested in Schlitz items. I have a HUGE Schlitz "stained glass" chandelier that I may sell. It's from appx. 1977, and if you are interested in Schlitz items, I'm sure you're familiar with the line. It's not one of the dull, normal hanging lights but rather an inverted bowl chandelier. It has "Shlitz" written around it and the bottom of the bowl is the globe with ribbon logo in simulated stained glass. It is made of hard plastic but even at close examination appears to be leaded glass. Perhaps you're interested? If not, do you know someone who may be? I appreciate the help. I hate to part with it but desperate times call for desperate measures!! Thank you! PB

I collect barber shop items and recently found a Pabst Blue Ribbon bar display. It is made of pot metal and shows a barber pole on the left side, five barber shop singers, and a plastic Pabsts Blue Ribbon bottle on the right. There is a lable in the middle, below the singers which says "the best is here " and a lable along the bottom which "says Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer" It has a gold rod which screws on the back, and is looped to hold two small glasses to hold drink stirs I think this display just sat on the bar. It is in very good condition, and if anyone could tell me the age and/or value of this item I would appreciate it . thank you.

I am looking for a papier-mache figurine of the "Black Horse". This statue would have stood in a store window, or behind the bar. It is approximately 10-12" high, the horse is a black Percheron, with yellow lettering at the base. This was to advertise Black Horse Ale, made by Carling O'Keefe, Canada. I don't know the time period this represents, but assume it is early to mid 20th century. I had one of these statues many years ago, and I am looking to replace it. Many thanks for any leads!

One is "this bud's for you", a man handing a beer to a girl on a horse '83, 2nd is a man horseshoeing a horse with the slogan "bud is a shoe in"'81 and 3rd an old cowboy telling his horse "you ain't no clydesdale"'81 Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

One of my most prized possessions is my Pabst Blue Ribbion jacket. It's an official distributer's jacket. It's blue, with a smaill 3 in by 3in patch over the left breast, and there's a huge 6 by 6 in. patch on the back. I really don't think I'd ever part with it, but I was just wondering what it might be worth to say trendy hipster types. Does anyone have a clue?

I am preparing to sell an extremely unique and rare historical document from my extensive personal collection. This document, a 4,000 year old cuneiform-inscribed clay tablet (written and dated in the reign on the legendary Sumerian King, Shulgi), is believed to be the world's oldest surviving written receipt for a delivery of beer by a brewer. Serious parties may contact me at: vast911@aol.com

In 1936, Silvertop Brewing Co. in Pgh. Pa. introduced their new flip top case. As a promotion they purchased 6 custom built 1936 Indian Motorcycles to deliver there beer. The box on top of the cycle was designed and painted to look like their new flip top box. It supposidly held 25 cases of beer. Clarion Beverage Company bought the Indian bike and regretably painted over the Silver Top Logo and placed their own advertisement on it. The bike is for sale. If interested we can supply a picture of the motorcycle over the internet. All offers will be considered. We reserve the right to turn down all bids.

I have a beer glass collection from when I was in college and I am wondering if anyone can tell me if they are worth anything. The first mug that comes to mind is a Jax mug with two handles I got when we were in Baton Rouge, Lou. at my brother-in laws graduation. We visited the Jax's brewery in Lou.and I got one.

Hi, I just came into possession of a very nice set of 12 beer glasses. They have a stained glass style to them and are absolutely sharp. There are six different glasses (2 of each) and include Schaefer, Schlitz, Miller, Black Label, Falstaff and Pabst. They look like they could be from the seventies or earlier based upon the stained glass colors. I was looking for some information on them and can't find anything on the 'net. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Everyone, I thought I would post a message letting everyone know I have just finished a video in a series I make. This Edition has a 10 Min. segment on the history of the Lemp family. I believe this to be the first such movie/segment done on this subject. The movies main emphasis is other than the Lemps but I thought the segment might interest someone. Here's what I know: the picture is on thin paper and seems to be attached to cardboard which is the backing which holds it into the frame. The frame at the bottom has an impression with the name of the company. On the back is the following: "This display designed and manufactured by Schaefer-Ross Co.,Inc. Webster, NY." Standard Brewing Company was founded in 1889 as an ale brewery. In 1956, Standard Brewing merged with Rochester Brewing and was renamed Standard-Rochester Brewing Company. That company ceased operation in 1970. Any information is greatly appreciated.
