My family owned the Mound City Brewing Company in New Athens, Illinois (just across the river from St. Louis) between the early-1890s and 1942. The brewery operated previously under the name the East St. Louis-New Athens Brewing Company (from the 1890s until the beginning of Prohibition). The principal brews were Egyptian beer and Egyptian Malt Syrup (1890s-1919?) Jiffy (near beer brewed during prohibition), Probst Supreme, Prince of Pilsen, and Sportsmen's. There were several other brews including Old Judge and Forest Park and a couple more I know I am forgetting. I would like to know if anyone is familiar with this brewery or its products and if you have ever seen any artifacts.
