Beercans.
I am writing a book on the Phoenix Brewery from Amersfoort the Netherlands. This brewery has been the first Dutch brewery to sell beer on the home market in beer cans (cone top) in june 1936. For the export market they had MILL in cone top cans. For the book I am looking for an illustration of this MILL cone top beercan.
I am looking foreward for help (by the way as a collector I am looking for beerlabels from Dutch breweries).

Need help from someone out there. Found an old beer bottle under the house made by the Washington Brewing Company in Columbus, Ohio. Does anyone out there have any information as to when this brewer was in business, where it was located, etc.? Is it of any value? Thanks...

Cool site. Hey, any St. Louis collectors want to offer a quick (vague!) appraisal? I have a cardboard Forest Park Beer sign - "Well Worth Asking For!" I found it at a flea market about 10-12 years ago. It's red/black/yellow on white (yellowing), with a couple water marks and a small tear in one of the corners. Still displays wonderfully. I know a litte about Forest Park's history, but can't find any breweriana to compare it to. Any info/help is appreciated, and your collecting karma will be rewarded, I'm sure. Thanks!

I need a simple answer: I can't find in any publication the approximate date (decade perhaps?) when oak beer barrels were replaced with more modern storage barrels, ie the "standard" barrel sizes delivered to taverns. How might one trace the age of a barrel from info found on the barrel, like batch numbers, size, etc? Another way of asking this is When did coopers join the ranks of the unemployed?

Antique Beer Bottle!
I recently found an antique beer bottle in excellent condition.
Lake Superior outside of Paradise Michigan gave me this treasure.
The bottle reads: Grand Rapids Brewing Company
The bottom edge of the bottle reads; Registered This Bottle Not To Be Sold.
The words Grand Rapids Brewing Company are embossed.
On the bottom of the bottle are the numbers 279 with a 3 centered under those numbers.
The numbers are also embossed.
The bottle is Heavy Thick Dark Brown Glass and the condition is Excellent.
Lake Superior has a way of preserving it's treasures.
Have discovered The Grand Rapids Brewing Company was in operation from 1897 to 1914 when it closed due to prohibition.
It re-opened in 1993.
Anyone with knowledge on this Antique Beer Bottle PLEASE Contact me.
Thank-You!

Hello,
I was wondering if you could help me identify a beer stein.
It says "Kannenbier Versand Gesellschaft" and "Unverkaufliches Eigentum" on the top.
It looks very old. Made of stoneware- like material, sort of cream color. It has a round pottery cover with a snap-down holder. Swirl pattern on the body. Wide at the bottom (about 4 inches) slender toward the neck (about 2 and 1/2 inches and a bit wider at the top (about 3 inches). It stands about 9 inches tall.
If you don't know anything about it could you suggest where I might find out?
Thanks

INFORMATION WANTED
I have a copy of a book called "Proceedings of the Company of Amateur Brewers" written by Vrest Orton in 1932 and published in Bratleboro, VT. It is a book that was privately printed for the Members of the Company of Amateur Brewers and includes recipes dating back to colonial times including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson's favorite beer recipes. It also has
various recipes for Mead and Methgelin and even "Chicken Beer" made with real chicken parts. I have tried to locate other copies of the book to find out it's worth, but the only place I could find it is in the Library of Congress. It is listed as Dewey Decimal #TP570.07. They only show 3 copies of it in the L.O.C. None of the antique book stores I have been in touch
with have ever heard of it so I am wondering if anyone posting on this bulletin board has any idea of it's value? Please post or email any suggestions. Thank you.

I was given a full beer bottle and the name on the label is TOLLEMACHES CORONATION ALE and has a large crown in the center of the label (as in a King's Crown) and a small crown on each corner. In smaller letters appears to be where it was brewed "Ipswich London & Cambridge". Also on the label at the bottom in small letters "Specially brewed in January 1953 in celebration of the Coronation". The bottle cap is still in place and the bottle is almost black in color. The bottle is English in origin and for the 1953 Coronation of the Queen. What else can anyone tell me about this and does it have any real value? Where could I research this further. Thank You.

I found a stein over the weekend and I'm trying to identify it. It's Brown glazed outside and natural (tan) inside. It's 4" tall. On one side is the image of a long neck beer bottle with a ribbon tied around the neck. The label of the bottle is in the shape of an Old Style (Heilemans) shield with 3.2 on it. On the other side is the words "Sweet Adeline" with a few musical notes. Does anyone know if this stein is associated with a particular Brand?
